1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Dark Credits, including its game client, website (darkcredits.org), and all related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Dark Credits ("we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account, purchasing the game, downloading the client, or visiting the website, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) and agree to these Terms.

2. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain the security of your password and accept all risks of unauthorized access
• Promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
• Not share your account credentials with any other person
• Not create more than one account per person

Your GamerTag, once confirmed, is permanent and cannot be changed. Choose carefully.

We reserve the right to disable accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion, with or without notice.

3. License to Use the Game

Upon purchase of a paid edition, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Dark Credits game client solely for your personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes.

This license does not include the right to:

• Sell, sublicense, or otherwise distribute the game or any portion of it
• Modify, decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer the game client
• Use the game for any commercial purpose without express written consent
• Exploit game bugs or mechanics to gain unfair advantage in multiplayer
• Create or distribute cheats, trainers, bots, or unauthorized modifications

The Beta-Release (free) edition is licensed for evaluation purposes only and may be limited in functionality.

4. Purchases & Payments

All purchases are processed securely via Stripe. We do not store your payment card information on our servers. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

Purchase of any paid edition grants lifetime access to all current content and all future updates released for that edition. Prices are in USD and are subject to applicable taxes in your jurisdiction.

Digital products are delivered immediately upon successful payment. A license key will be sent to your registered email address.

5. Refund Policy

We offer a 7-day refund policy from the date of purchase for all paid editions, provided:

• You have not played more than 2 hours of the game
• Your request is submitted within 7 days of purchase
• The request is made in good faith and not as a repeated pattern of abuse

To request a refund, contact us at support@darkcredits.org with your order details. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Cheat, hack, or exploit any unintended game mechanics
• Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful software
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Engage in any activity that violates applicable law or regulation
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service

7. Intellectual Property

All content within Dark Credits — including but not limited to game art, music, code, lore, branding, and the Dark Credits name — is the exclusive intellectual property of Dark Credits and its creators.

Fan art, non-commercial fan content, and streaming/YouTube content is permitted and encouraged, provided it does not misrepresent the game or its creators. Monetized content featuring Dark Credits is allowed under a Creative Content Policy.

Any user-generated content submitted to us (e.g., bug reports, feedback) may be used by us without compensation.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DARK CREDITS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Grounds for termination include but are not limited to violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or conduct harmful to other users.

Upon termination, your license to use the game is revoked. Depending on the circumstances of termination, refunds may or may not be issued at our discretion.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you disagree with any changes, your remedy is to stop using the Service and request a refund if within the refund window.
